Mirabella V : 45 millions dollars on the rocks !

09/2004-

Hardly believable, largest sloop of the world, Mirabella V, with impressive measurements (75.2 m length, 14.82 m broad, draught 3.90m, 740 tons of displacement, a mast of almost 91 m) and 2100 HP engines, was failed today, September 16th, 2004, on the rocks of St Jean Cap Ferrat (close to Nice).

During 3 hours, 2 megayachts (Big Roi and Ecstasea) tried, in vain, to get her out this perilous position.

Ecstasea, the 25th largest Motor yacht of the world, in the area at this time, was diverted to help Mirabella V. This Feadship of 282 ft length (86 m), with a more than honourable power (4×3154 HP Diesel, and a 31269 HP gas turbine) did not succeed in towing the jewel estimated at nearly 45 million dollars…

A tug boat was to be dispatched from Marseille in the evening to help her.
