Andrea Dini appointed as new UIM Secretary General

Andrea Dini has been appointed as UIM Secretary General with immediate effect. His candidature for this important role within the International Powerboating Federation was proposed by the UIM Executive Committee to the UIM Council which unanimously accepted his appointment at the last
UIM Council meeting held in Monaco soon after the annual Awards Giving Gala.

Andrea will replace Mrs. Régine Vandekerckhove who led the UIM Monaco office since 1992.

Andrea, 43 years old and passionate of Powerboating, in the last years was an appreciated journalist and TV producer for International Televisions, Magazines and Organizations. He was living in Lucca, a few kilometers far from Viareggio, homeland of Yachting and Powerboating and he has been developing since years a constructive interaction with the boatyard industry and the sport of Powerboating, acquiring a wide knowledge of the sport particularly in Offshore, Aquabike, Endurance and Circuit disciplines. Andrea’s media and marketing skills will be an asset in view of UIM future challenges. Andrea was already part of the UIM Family and he was member of the UIM Media and Marketing working group.

“After many years of appreciated services to the industry and the sport of Powerboating, it’s a great honor and an opportunity for me to focus my knowledge and experience at the service of the World Governing Body, the UIM” stated Andrea after his appointment. “It’s like crowning a dream after several years of hard and professional work for our Sport. Let me thank the UIM Council and all the people who gave me their confidence and trust for this great opportunity”.
