Fiart 42 Genius: A firmly established reputation

02/2006 –

Construction

The Naples-based shipyard Fiart now has a firmly established reputation for producing well-finished products with pure lines and the systematic choice of a cockpit without tender stowage. This year, the latest innovation from the Italian manufacture is the Fiart 42 Genius, which replaces the 40 and comes in just behind the brand’s flagship, the 50 Genius. In all, the Fiart range runs from 23 feet to 50 feet.

Above deck

The mark of Italian know-how is manifest in the Fiart 42 Genius‘ pure lines. Based on the 40-foot hull, the 42 actually shares very few similarities with its predecessor. The outdoor deck is fully covered in teak from bow to stern. The boat’s colossal dimensions (it is 4 metres wide) are artfully concealed by its design, which in no way reduces the enjoyable sense of spaciousness on board.  Access onboard is via a starboard gate that connects the cockpit to the bathing platform. There is a large, U-shaped bench seat against the transom. In the deck, Fiart has incorporated a table that can be raised on hydraulic jacks to form a large on-deck saloon seating approximately 8 people. The system can of course be converted into a spacious sun deck. As if this were not enough, there is another sundeck at the bow. The distinctly futuristic grey dashboard on the Fiart 42‘s steering console is also of note.

Below deck

A central, sliding door leads below deck, where the finishings are also of the highest quality. In the lounge area, there is a fully equipped galley to port, opposite a small saloon that converts to a single berth. The owner’s cabin is in the bow, with a double berth and en suite bathroom with separate toilet. In the centre, there is a twin cabin with its own bathroom. The key advantage of this boat is its adaptability, since it is also available in a three-cabin version with either one bathroom, or two smaller ones.

Engines

Another unique aspect of this unit is that it can be equipped with two 310 hp Volvo engines, or with a maximum of 2×350 hp. This kind of power is indispensable to push the boat’s 8 tonnes to a maximum speed of 35 knots.
