Since thursday July the 2nd, a megayacht is particuliraly exciting people on the French Riviera. A, a 119 meters megayacht, also known as Sigma Project or SF99 is at sea right in front of Antibes. Designed by naval architect Martin Francis and Philippe Starck, this contemporary unit is remarkable.

With a reversed bow (like Feadship Predator see also our article), she is one of the 10 biggest private yachts in the world, looks like a submarine high above water. The owner, Andreï Melnichenko, a russian billonaire, has his suite is located in the big central space. The specific look of this yacht has been awarded by the Asia Boating Award 2009 last april, as the most innovative external design. This price follows the World Yacht Trophy award won by this unit during last Cannes Boat Show.

Not to miss

For more than 200 million Euros, the german shipyard Blohm & Voss has built an innovative yacht, often considered as a UFO (unknown floating object) since her launch end of 2007. Wherever she is, in Majorque, Monaco, Malta or now Antibes, each time she’s seen is an event. More than her specific look, her specifications are impressive: equiped with an helipad, 3 elevators, 3 swimming pools one of which with a translucid roof, a night club, a large suite, 6 guest suites, 42 crews… she also has a 757 000 liters of fuel capacity that provide her 15 days autonomy at 19,5 knots. Therefore, the A goes on cruising in the mediterranean sea, no doubt she will continue to impress and make people talk about her.
