 A 60 meter Super Sailer

Van Geest Design (VGD) has developed a 60 meter super sailer into a special concept. With a sleek and modern hull, this fly bridge sailing yacht will be a true pleasure to sail cruising around or racing in the big boat regattas.

Besides the helm- and control stations there is a lounge/dining area located on the fly bridge with a 360 degrees view of the surroundings. The main deck features a modern styled superstructure, flush foredeck and raised bulwarks. All enhancing the clean, non-clutter look and appearance.

Aft of the deckhouse is the large main cockpit which connects to the pool and sunbathing area. The bulwarks are opened and fitted with glass for a good view of the surroundings from this cockpit but also from the main salon located in the main superstructure. While at anchor the aft deck can be transformed and almost doubled in size by hinging out the aft hull/bulwark panels and turning them into side platforms.

The owners cabin located just forward of this links directly to this beach area. The passarelle coming out of the transom will give direct water access. Altogether reflecting a truly special concept of the modern sailing super yacht.

A 62 meter Motor Yacht

Van Geest Design has developed this design for ICON Yachts.

The design is based on the shipyards structural and engineering platform. The ICON 72 M platform is a variation of the ICON 62 Meter yachts.

New styling

VGD has developed this yacht’s styling with a combination of hull form and subtle two-tone coloring. This design is a development from VGD’s 55M explorer design in which was used the same hull shape philosophy. For Icon, VGD has accentuated this “styling strake” by combining it with color. The use of this styling strake leads to a simple, but stylish play of lines and surfaces, giving the yacht a distinctive and sleek appearance. By developing this eye catching hull feature, VGD steps away from conventional and traditional hull and color code.

The General Layout

There are four guest cabins located on the lower deck with direct access to the wellness area nearby the transom/beach area. The wellness area opens to the VGD open transom style, creating a full beach entertainment area with a true sense of being close to the elements. The central staircase provides the connection to the main- and upper deck where there are lounge-, entertainment- and dining areas. A cinema located on tank deck level adds to the entertainment. Main crew, officers quarters and services are spread out over tank, lower and main deck.  The full width owner’s suite is located forward on main deck. It has large windows and an internal staircase leading to the owner’s office on the bridge deck by the wheelhouse.

The upper deck layout is designed around the central panoramic salon (lounge and dining). There are sun lounging areas and Jacuzzi. The tenders can be stored in ICON style tender bays in the foredeck. A helicopter can be landed on the foredeck.
