Construction
It is with all the glitz and glamour of an American-style show that renowned Italian manufacturer Pershing launched its latest model, the Pershing 72, at this year’s summer boat shows. This Italian superstar is the opus of Fulvio de Simoni, with an interior by Italian designer Poltorna Frau. Together, they have produced a work of art that is the ultimate incarnation of the Pershing image, combining design and technological innovation.

Above deck
With her sleek lines, grey colours and fabulous design, the cards are very much stacked in favour of the new Pershing 72. The sloping windshield and side windows merge perfectly with the rigid sunroof . At the stern, there is access to the platform from either side of a comfortable sundeck located on top of the tender stowage area. A stylish outdoor saloon with its own galley can be sheltered by a rigid awning that extends all the way to the sundeck. Then we find another, indoor saloon in the wheelhouse with an L-shaped benchseat and the helm station, a masterpiece of design by Poltrona Frau with two very comfortable bucket seats facing a dashboard that is nothing less than outrageous, somewhere between an aircraft cockpit and a racing car!

Below deck
The overall atmosphere on board is further enhanced by the futuristic design below deck. The numerous mirrors and portholes make the interior lighter and larger, particularly in the centrally located owner’s cabin with its two enormous side portholes. The cabin is impressively large with a private bathroom and huge double bed. There is another spacious cabin in the bow with its own bathroom and plenty of stowage space. Pershing also offers the option between either a third cabin with twin berths or a saloon with convertible L-shaped benchseat. Both options come with a third bathroom facing the very well equipped galley.

Engines
These Italian sports cruisers do not stop at being elegant, they are also breathtakingly fast. The 72-footer can achieve peak speeds of up to 42 knots and a cruising speed of 40 knots according to the manufacturer, who has equipped the Pershing 72 with two 1833 horsepower MTU engines and Arneson surface propellers.
